For sensitive skin and exfoliation, here are some tips.

Exfoliating can be a scary idea if you have sensitive skin. You don’t want your already sensitive skin to get worse. Exfoliation should be part of your routine regardless of your skin concern or type. Why? It offers a variety of benefits. These include removing dead skin cells and encouraging cell turnover to allow healthy new cells to emerge. It’s the only step in your skincare routine that will give you glowing, soft skin. Before exfoliating your skin, it is essential to understand how often and which exfoliating products are best for your sensitive skin. We are skincare experts and can help you. What type of exfoliator is best for sensitive skin?

There are three types of exfoliants: physical (scrubs that contain small grains or beads to remove surface debris), acid (acid exfoliants that chemically dissolve the waste), and enzymatic (plant- or fruit-derived exfoliants that typically break down the glue that holds dead skin cells together, allowing them to shed old cells).

Avoid scrubbing sensitive skin. This will only irritate already reactive skin and can cause facial redness. Use a mild chemical exfoliator containing AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids), such as citric and glycolic acid or enzyme exfoliators. These ingredients, derived from the earth, dissolve dead skin cells rather than physically rubbing them off.

BHAs (beta-hydroxy acids) are exfoliators that contain salicylic acid. Be more careful. Salicylic acid is excellent for sensitive skin but can cause skin irritations.

If your skin can tolerate it, it’s OK to do it once a week. But don’t rush! You must be consistent with your treatment and take it slowly to avoid irritation. Over-exfoliating may irritate your skin’s natural protective layer – a protective layer made of oils and lipids that help keep irritants away and lock in moisture.
